CHICAGO, IL & SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Point Reyes Sound announced today that it has been invited to join Alchemist Chicago’s final selection stage taking place in Chicago from October 19–23, 2026. Point Reyes Sound is proud to be named one of 30 selected companies advancing into this pivotal in-person proving ground.
Selection Overview & Proving Ground
Operated by the globally recognized Alchemist Accelerator, Alchemist Chicago convenes top-tier enterprise, materials, and deep tech ventures. The upcoming October 19–23 session serves as the program’s official proving ground and final selection process, bringing founders together for rigorous technical reviews, enterprise customer discovery sessions, and evaluations with institutional venture partners.
Following the intensive five-day proving ground in Chicago, up to 15 companies will advance into the full Alchemist Chicago accelerator cohort, receiving structured enterprise acceleration, network access, and programmatic capital. Point Reyes Sound enters this stage with validated continuous kinetic transport algorithms and growing industry interest in non-equilibrium electronic structure simulation.
Chicago’s Quantum & Deep Tech Ecosystem
Alchemist Chicago’s program is integrated with the premier Midwest deep tech and quantum corridor, benefiting from close alignment with regional catalysts including Duality—the nation’s first accelerator dedicated exclusively to quantum startups—and the University of Chicago.
For Point Reyes Sound, this milestone marks a natural scientific homecoming. The foundational methodologies behind Point Reyes Sound’s continuous-space kinetics and the Quantum Boltzmann Equation Self-Consistent Field (QBE-SCF) platform trace directly to theoretical research originating at the University of Chicago. Returning to Chicago alongside institutional quantum partners reflects the accelerating convergence of classical high-performance computing, deep tech chemistry, and scalable quantum computing.
Algorithmic Innovation in Quantum Electronic Structure
Point Reyes Sound specializes in regularizing mean-field topological singularities through informational kinetic transport. While traditional mean-field electronic structure methods suffer from catastrophic derivative cusps and factorial combinatorial active space explosions, Point Reyes Sound’s continuous QBE-SCF framework propagates the one-electron reduced density matrix towards smooth thermodynamic equilibria.
This capability delivers polynomial O(N³) scaling across strong multireference electronic correlations—bypassing exponential active spaces in classical GPU architectures while establishing pre-relaxed density matrices that reduce fault-tolerant quantum compilation resource bounds.
